STILL GOT A QUESTION?

FREQUENTLY ASKED

What’s going to be different in 2025's King of the Hill?

We’re taking everything you loved about the first year and turning it up a notch!

✅ More Money & Prizes

Not just for the winner—more opportunities for everyone to take home cash and awards, like fastest laps, last female standing, last male standing, milestone bonuses, and strategic withdrawal prizes.

✅ A Slightly Longer Course

Same grueling hill, but with a little extra distance to push your limits even further.

✅ Bigger Festival Vibes

We’re adding more DJs, live speakers, giveaways, and even a tattoo artist to create a full experience for athletes and spectators alike.

✅ Even Better Coverage

Expect improved livestreams, more cameras, and in-depth interviews to capture every moment of the action.

Can I have a support crew?

Yep! Bring your mum, your mates or whoever else you’d like. Just keep in mind they will need to share your designated rest area. You can have a maximum of 3 people in your rest area at 1 time.

Can I park at the race?

Absolutely, but there's a $20 parking fee per car. We recommend carpooling to save some dosh. Parking tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day.

What do I need to bring to the race?

Everything you need to survive for the duration of how long you back yourself - water, meals, snacks, etc. After signing up you will be sent a mandatory & recommended gear list.

Will I be able to purchase food and supplies there?

Yes, we have a coffee cart, food trucks, BBQ and a race stall on-site. However, we can't guarantee they'll be available on day 3... or day 4?

What’s the course like?

The course consists of 2 major climbs, with 1 very steep descent. The terrain is predominantly grassy, offering a soft yet uneven surface, interspersed with clusters of small rocks that require you to remain vigilant with each step.

What does a ticket include?

Your race fee includes: a race bib, stickers, GPS tracking, 5x5 rest area access, medals, personalised photos, King of the Hill 2025 t-shirt and full access to vendors on the day including a free tattoo voucher

If I win the $25,000, how will I get it?

You know those giant cheques you see in movies? You’ll pose for a pic with one of those things, then we’ll transfer the money directly to your bank account.

Can you explain the rest area?

You'll have a designated 5x5 space conveniently located near the starting line, giving you a personal area to set up however you like. This space is your sanctuary between loops—a place to rest, refuel, and recharge. At minimum we’d recommend a swag, a sleeping mat, a small table, water, food and a chair.

What do I need to carry on my person during the race?

- Running shoes (trail shoes recommended)
- Race bib (supplied)
- Headtorch / Flashlight (between 8 pm - 8 am)
- Emergency whistle
- Mobile phone
- Clothing that covers your private parts

Is there a minimum age to participate?

Participants must be 18 years or older to enter King of the Hill.

What happens if there’s bad weather?

The race goes on, rain, hail or shine! However, in cases of extreme rain, there will be an alternative course.

What medical support is available?

We have trained medical staff on-site to assist with injuries, dehydration, or other health concerns.

Will there be a live leaderboard?

Yes, we’ll have a live leaderboard displayed on-site and updated in real-time via our event app so everyone can follow the action. The event will also be live streamed on YouTube so your family and friends can watch along.
